OceanMD

Ocean patient messages allow Dr. Lacroix and staff  to securely send and receive messages and attachments to and from patients, and invite them to complete

Ocean Forms online at home before their appointment, without the risks that come with sending patient health information over email. With Ocean’s EMR integration, patient records are seamlessly updated without any scanning, typing, or manual staff involvement.

How to send pictures, documents or files

  • Open and read the email from your healthcare provider. Click on the link to open the Health Messenger in a new window.

  • In the Health Messenger, enter your date of birth to confirm you are the correct recipient. *The birthday must match what the clinic has on file. If there is an error, you may need to contact them directly to request an update.

  • Review the message. To keep the message, copy and save it to your files. If not, it will automatically delete after a period set by the clinic.

  • If there is an attachment, click on the file to open it in a new window. Click the “save” button to download a copy.

  • If a response or attachment is required, use the chat field at the bottom to write a message or include a file. If no response is required, this field will be unavailable.

  • Click the “Forms” tab to see any required forms. Once you submit, your responses are automatically encrypted and sent back to the healthcare provider

How can I be sure this message is from my healthcare provider?

Depending on your healthcare provider’s settings, messages may be delivered from their clinic email address, or “no-reply@oceanmd.com.” The contents of the message itself can vary from clinic to clinic.

After clicking on the link to open the Health Messenger, look for a “lock” symbol in the address bar. This means the site is safe and there is a private connection.

These security settings can vary depending on the browser you use so it’s always a good idea to understand how your browser identifies safe and unsafe websites. Click here to view our privacy policy.

If you have any concerns about the message, we recommend contacting the clinic directly.
